in the search of some food and your money….
Local food blogger, Nicola (Nicki) Tudor, to whom the digital world know her as Cardiff Bites became the focus of the online world in Cardiff recently when she was tweeted by international rapper Snoop Dogg.
Nicola runs a food blog ‘Cardiff Bites’ posting about local food and restaurants in South Wales and it seems the rapper wanted to find out more about the food he could expect when his European Tour kicks off in Cardiff on October 2011.

And the responses flooded in:-

Even the GLC joined in the debate and made their own response video detailing what places they actually like in Cardiff (or Newport as it turned out!) I wonder if Snoop Dogg takes the time to watch it?
So for all the great restaurants and food that is available in South Wales – the best we could all recommend was chicken curry and chips off the bone in Caroline Street, other takeaways and of course the Clarke’s Pie!
To help conjure up more support and interest for his tour Snoop Dogg recorded a few specific videos targeting some celebrities and even normal members of the public whilst sporting a Cardiff City football shirt.

Even a shout out to Cardiff born footballer Ryan Giggs!
A few days later Snoop Dogg must have seen the error of his ways and realised that Rugby is quite a big sport in Wales (and Cardiff alledgely) and decided to try and not alienate that part of the demographic by putting out a request for a Cardiff Blues top! (Does he realise his concert is on the same day Wales will be taking on Ireland in the Rugby World Cup and the Michael Jackson tribute concert is in town aswell?)

So overall quite an exciting day in the online world and showing how you can reach out to your fans (and fans to be!) by using the power of Twitter and Youtube – where SnoopDogg and CardiffBites were trending for most of the day! Also it goes to show how well known around the world Caroline Street is. PS Did I mention that the Snoop Dogg tickets were going for only £15 via Groupon yesterday? ?
