MUSIC – Dance Yearmix 2013

It’s that time of the year when we take a trip down the last 12 months of dance music and mix them all up into one handy mix – known throughout the world as a Yearmix (or a Jaarmix in some parts!)

In previous years I’ve started off quite slow with some hip hop mixes and then progressively moved through house and commerical tracks before ended up much faster and harder ending up with some trance then some drum n bass.

This year I’ve decided to rip up any rules I got myself into and decided to let the music dictate where the mix goes! So this year no major commerical tracks – no One Direction, JLS or Psy!

Dance music in general seems in a much more healthy state this year with loads of half decent releases and a lot crossingover in the mainstream charts with the help of artists like Disclosure and Joe Goddard.

So this year I’ve tried to avoid as much cheese as I could but felt that it needed representing in the mix somewhere but have tried keeping it to a minimum. (I hope i’m forgiven!)
