Minor building work took place earlier in the week at The Cardiff City Stadium to install a ‘picture frame’ to hang new banners and posters from.
The stadium was opened in 2009 and has been home to Cardiff City FC (and the Cardiff Blues for a while) and is synonymous with The Bluebirds. (A lot of Blue going on here?!)
Since owner Vincent Tan has taken over Cardiff City they have been playing home games in a red strip with the colour red becoming ever more present at the stadium.
So it was to my surprise that I could see a giant blue poster on the ground waiting to be erected!
The workmen rolled up this huge poster and took it up the scissor lift to attatch to the framework covering a part of the stadium that has never had any major signage on it previously.
From me to you…from you to me….from me to you.
And the posters were revealed to be two large adverts for ‘Visit Malaysia‘ whom have bizarrly rebranded from RED to BLUE (You just can’t make this stuff up!!)
I, too, being a season ticket holder since 2000, thought it was rather amusing to see a blue advert go up. Tan obviously didn’t give the final go-ahead for this. Someone in sales / marketing has their P45 due to arrive in the post any time now…
