Hailing from our cousins over the water, 3dom’s street art is usually found around the streets of Bristol and beyond.
3dom is an illustrator and artist who paints cartoons, mixed with semiology and surrealism which are vibrant, provocative and deeply personal.
Luckily now he has arrived in Cardiff to take part in the Empty Walls festival being held in Cathays and Roath.
The event has invited 12 local and international artists to transform the streets of Cardiff to bring colour, culture and vibrancy to the city.
“A childs cartoon, mixed with semiology and surrealism, something for children to enjoy and adults to dissect” – 3dom
I love stumbling across a 3dom piece where I do just stand and stare – the geometric shapes and patterns, the body parts, the colours, the hidden faces and the overall feeling of WTF!?
As part of the Empty Walls festival he has painted this amazing piece off the Northcote Lanes with a giant cigar smoking turtle taking centre stage.
Whilst sat ontop of this turtle is a character holding a balloon in one hand and a person in another!
Answers on a postcard please!
(Did I mention the character has a house for a head?)
Can you spot the face on the house?
And as usual the inclusion of that pesky fly making it’s way from the scene….
The Empty Wall festival continues until 20th October 2013.
