Lights……., daffodils……., flags……, cameras……, screaming……, excitement……, Gangnam Style?……, action!!!!
It can only mean one thing…. it’s time ……to face …….the music!!!!!
Over the weekend of 20th April, 2013 the massive ITV search for the next singing superstar came to Cardiff.
Initial auditions were held at The Millennium Stadium with host Dermot O’Leary in charge of proceedings. Judges of Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Sherzinger were not present as these were only the preliminary auditions held infront of X Factor producers.
Thousands of X Factor hopefuls flocked to the capital in the hope of securing a place in this year’s competition. It’s estimated that around 3,000 people got up early on Saturday morning to join the huge queue snaking it’s way along the Millennium Walkway that stretches from The Millennium Stadium to Canton Bridge.
The sun was shining and everyone was in fine voice. The X Factor team got everyone to do the usual arm waving and screaming but this time they also tried a few different things.
Firstly we had dancing daffodils, then everyone joined in for some Tom Jones tracks before everyone then jumped at the chance to do a Harlem Shake – Welsh style!!!
Then cue blasts of PSY’s Gangnam Style and dancers dressed up in traditional Welsh outfits dancing to the infectous hit! Check out a sneak preview by pressing play below.
Yes the X Factor juggernaut is definately in town and let’s hope they really do find some amazing talent from this part of the world. As it’s now in it’s tenth year they have released a mashup of previous winners and popular acts excluding Matt Cardle and Steve brookstein!
