STREET ART – Big pink pussy in Radyr

A leisurely bike ride along the ‘Taff Trail’, which winds itself alongside the River Taff from Cardiff Bay all the way upto Brecon, where there is usually some wildlife, historic buildings and structures along this ever popular route to enjoy.

Recently artwork has been added to numerous subways and tunnels but my favourite piece is by Lembo on a bricked facility box near the weir at Radyr.

From the south it just looks like bog-standard graffiti but on closer inpsection a big pink pussy greets you from the north.
 

Brightening up this ageing structure is one of Lembo’s signature pieces – a large bright pink happy pussycat – sending everyone on their way with a smile.


On another side of the building there is some more artwork mimmicing the style of the Tesco ‘Every little helps’ slogan but this time cunningly changed to read ‘Shuts every little shop’


Most people will definatly pass this one by but hiding at ground level amongst the weeds and nettles was a small rat posing with a hammer.
