It’s not just animals and agriculture on display at The Royal Welsh Show each year. Usually there’s some alternative stunt-driven spectacle to be seen each day in the main show ring at Llanelwedd near Builth Wells.
And this year it was the welcome return of stunt riders ‘The Kangaroo Kid‘ aka Matt Coulter from Brisbane, Australia.
Armed with a 4 wheel quad buggy Matt entertained the crowd by driving around and balancing the whole vehicle on two wheels. (both back or side wheels – he made it all look SO easy!)
Matt wasn’t just a stuntman but also a showman and whipped the crowd into a frenzy whilst he attempted jumps over many larger vehicles including a huge John Deere tractor. (There didn’t seem enough speed or momentum to successfully complete each jump – but luckily he did!)
For the ever first time Matt Coulter was joined by his 18 year old son Sam who also took part with a quad buggy but his had the addition of a roll cage.
Will he ever beat his record of 5 consecutive forward rolls?
The main spectacle was a whole host of vehicles lined up beyond the ramp and to see whether Matt could succesfully jump them all. Could he do it?
Of course he could and this was signified with some fireworks going off exactly when he leapt off the ramp.
During each show Matt would select members of the audience to join him on the bike including these two girls and on the very last night a more mature woman named Jeane!
