Back in January 2013, ITV unveiled it’s latest identity with a batch of new idents conveying scenes of day-to-day life of the British public. The set were updated in April and now include a whole range of locations including one set in a record shop in Cardiff.
Filmed in Kelly Records on the balconied first floor of Cardiff Central Market the ident features someone fingering through the vast range of records the shop has whilst the camera pulls out to reveal the familiar glass panels of the market.
A full set of behind the scenes photos can be viewed on the Kellys Records Facebook page:- https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set
Would have been nice to see a bit more of the market ! Nice spot – such a fantastic place. Yours, Cardiff exile in Manchester
Yeah I agree it wouldve been nice to have seen more of the market but I think the key-word with this set of idents is ‘subtley’
From the music to the focus – its all very laid-back and quite non-specific.
As soon as I saw it I just knew it was Cardiff Central Market.
Hope all is well ooop North! PS What you doing up there?

I’m working for the BBC. Worth having a look if you’re ever near Salford Quays. It’s interesting to compare Manchester and Cardiff – some similarities but plenty of differences too.
