THRASHING – Wales retain Six Nations title

Well the whole of Cardiff (and Wales) has erupted into a massive party after Wales BEAT England and robbed them of the Grand Slam in the Six Nations Championship 2013.

England were hot favourites to win with the bookies offering odds of 1/3 for them to win whereas Wales were only 3/1! (wish I’d put that ten pounds on now!)

An amazing first 15 minutes where it was totally frantic play with no particular team edging out in front but the score at half time being 9-3 to Wales.

In the second half things heated up with Wales taking advantage and racking up two tries courtesy of Alex Cuthbeth and reassured kicking from Leigh Halfpenny (four penalties) while Dan Biggar added a penalty, a drop goal and a conversion.

The final score was 30-3 which was the biggest-ever Welsh margin over England (breaking the 25-0 record from 1905.)
I would’ve been happy with Wales just beating England regardless if they still won the Championship or not but oh no! Wales decided to really push the boudaries and make sure that at least 8 points was intact ensuring that England lost, and Wales took home the 2013 Six Nations Championship trophy with flying colours!

Well done boys! There’s no other way to tell the story than from their own tweets!

It seems Austin Healey has made a ‘faux’ bet with his followers on Twitter – he decided to take on the whole nation, tweeting: “Happy to bet a pound with every person in Wales that ENGLAND take the 6 nations.”

Since there are around 3 million people in Wales this could be quite costly for him! But it seems he is now trying to wriggle out of his commitment where the fellas at Gwlad Rugby have come up with an idea for him to redeem himself!
