MUSIC – Charlotte Church performs at SXSW

Charlotte Church has certainly moved on since the ‘Voice of an Angel’ era and showcased her latest offerings at the South by Southwest Festival held annually at Austin, Texas.

The South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals (March 8-17, 2013) offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW® is the premier destination for discovery.

Only a few days since her warm-up performance at the Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff its reported that she performed an intimate acoustic set live at the Latitude 30 stage dressed in a ethnic-inspired, surreal outfit.
Photographs also show the Cardiff-born singer sporting a series of coloured transfers on her face, adding to the ethic and bohemian look – which was totally fitting with the artsy motto: “Help Keep Austin Weird!”

Charlotte is performing on a total of three stages during her stint at this year’s SXSW:-

13.03.13 Latitude 30
14.03.13 The Rooftop on 6th
15.03.03 VEVO TV Control Room

Above is a short clip of how she looked and more importantly – how she sounded!

    were you there?

    • I usually take my annual monthly holiday in the USA in March but never got around to booking this years – I may have to pencil in March 2014 to make sure I attend next year’s event!

I still can’t decide where to venture for this year’s holiday mind!!

I think a total of SIX Cardiff-based artists are appearing at the SXSW festival this year!
