Home cleaner brand, Domestos, has teamed up with a few charities to launch ‘World Toilet Day’ on the general public. It is an initiative to help reduce the amount of flushing we do as a nation to save water and resources.
They have set up a website http://www.flushtracker.com where after typing in your postcode the application will track your current flush and plot a map of where the contents are travelling around your local area all in real time – complete with distance travelled and actual speed!
Mine began making it’s way through the Victorian sewerage system of Pontcanton before heading towards the River Taff. Would it end and be discharged here? Oh no – it crosses the River Taff and heads towards the Millennium Stadium! From my Armitage Shanks to ‘Shanks’ in the Millennium Stadium!
Now if I time this just right im sure one of my proudest moments could arrive at the Millennium Stadium just in time for kick off in a Six Nations match.
Post Millennium Stadium it certainly did head south with much gusto and headed straight towards Torchwood Central and The Oval Basin! But alas – a detour beckoned!
A distinct U-bend was in the offering before taking the less scenic route around the back side of the Wales Millennium Centre!
It was then forced along the back passage of the Bay, around Cargo Road, where I hoped this would be the end for my cargo that I deposited about an hour earlier!
Here is the link to follow the exact route – 3.69 miles in approximately one hour! Try from your area of Cardiff or the Uk!
