PHOTOS-Cardiff City players meet the fans

Hundreds of football fans queued for their chance to meet the football players from local Championship side Cardiff City. The queue started at the entrance to the St David’s Centre on Working Street and led all the way upto the centre of the busy shopping mall between Boots and H Samuel.
Cardiff City were featuring some of their first team during the half-term period to give fans their chance to meet the players, get programmes signed and also the all important photo opportunity!
The three day event began today with the promise of Michael Chopra, Aaron Ramsey, Darcy Blake and Jay Bothroyd appearing in the shopping centre from midday.

Eager fans began queuing way before midday but by quarter past 12 there were still no Cardiff City players in sight (maybe they had been celebrating the win against Leicester last night?) Eventually Peter Whittingham was spotted in the crowds – where fans rushes to get photos and signatures before he was then escorted into position by security staff! A quick briefing from the staff and then a few others turned up out of nowhere aswell!

The first-team assembled and were ready for the onslaught of meeting and greeting the locals. It seemed that a few others joined in aswell but still no sign of Chops or Bothroyd whilst I was there! People that didn’t join the queue could easily stand around taking photos on their mobile phones.




According to the Cardiff City FC website the schedule for the players attending next are:-
Wednesday 23rd February
12-1pm Michael Chopra, Aaron Ramsey, Darcy Blake, Jay Bothroyd
1-2pm Tom Heaton, Peter Whittingham, Kevin McNaughton, Gavin Rae

Thursday 24 February
2-3pm , Gabor Gyepes, Chris Burke, Stephen McPhail, Dekel Keinan

Friday 25 February
2-3pm Martin John, Jon Meades, Jordan Santiago + others
