Flickr user Walt Jabsco announced on his feed that local grafitti artist known as ‘Gorf’ had passed away on January 14th.
“It’s with great, great sadness and a heavy, heavy heart I have to announce that Gorf/Hasl/Anoy, one of Cardiff’s most recent, prolific writers, passed away on 14th January in Portugal.”
“Sympathies go out to Family and Friends from the Cardiff Graffiti Flickr group.”
“RIP”
This was the last piece from Gorf that I managed to photograph during the heavy snow plus a tag from next to the Tuck-in Cafe on Canton high street.
Tributes have been paid online at Flickr and Facebook by friends and other local graffiti artists.
It seems that tributes have been popping up around the Capital City of Wales aswell.
Please feel free to add your photos and memories of Gorf here and at the Cardiff Grafitti Group at Flickr Plans are afoot for a possible jam in tribute to Gorf – but not for many weeks yet.
