After such an amazing Wednesday with crisp clear blue skies and not a cloud in sight – it came as a bit of shock to experience the first episode of bad weather this Autumn. All the leaves are now fully off the trees, and with gusts reaching 90 mph in some areas, it’s no surprise that some minor damage occurred throughout the City.
In Sophia Gardens two trees were uprooted. Luckily there are no reports of any injuries resulting from these fallen trees. Today workmen are carrying out remedial work to make the area safe and to remove the trees.
Park Street – housing the BT Building next to the Millennium Stadium, was closed to traffic today. This was due to loose cladding once again being blown about from the BT Building to the roads below! Also the site of the old South Wales Echo site has totally been exposed with all the safety fencing being destructed in the winds.
