Happy Saint David’s Day to Welshmen and Welsh Women around the world and universe! A short anonymous poem about the seven wonders of Wales:-
Red Dragons outside Cardiff Castle in the St Davids David Day Parade Cardiff 2010
“Pistyll Rhaeadr and Wrexham steeple,
Snowdon’s mountain without its people,
Overton yew trees, St Winefride’s wells,
Llangollen bridge and Gresford bells”

Who’d have thought of the Welsh connections some of these celebrities got!

KATIE PRICE – MODEL
Her life may be laid bare every week in the tabloids and gossip magazines, but her fans do not know that she’s Welsh. In fact Katie Infield, as she was then known, was born in Newport on 22 May, 1978.

PAUL WHITEHOUSE, COMEDIAN
Paul Whitehouse puts his talent for mimicry down to his Welsh heritage. Born in Stanleytown, Rhondda, his father worked for the National Coal Board and his mother was a singer with the Welsh National Opera

DAWN FRENCH, COMEDIAN
What many people do not know is that French is actually Welsh. She was born in Y Gors maternity home in Holyhead on Anglesey.
