2011-Firework displays around the world!

I do enjoy a good firework display and capital cities around the world really pushed the boat out and spent millions of pounds to try and give their country the best display they would’ve seen. I’m sure many months of planning had gone into each display from chosing locations, music selection and more importantly the choreography of the whole event.

Having watched them all I feel that the London display won it hands down this year! Sometimes less is more and the firework choreography was spot on with the music selection. It was also great to hear some Welsh artists in the mix and some mashed up by Radio1 and 1Xtra DJ Nihal ! What else could I want! If you are going to only watch one display all the way through make sure its the London display! Complete with the amazing 10 minute mix from Nihal via the Soundcloud player below.

Ive just been browsing the web (where else but in work!) and came across this amazing little video featuring characters from Cardiff. Stick with it as it contains a really catchy sound track and is EXTREMELY well put together! Im not 100% sure but this video seems to be connected to the website http://www.biglittlecity.com/ and is well worth a look to catch up on some of those Cardiff characters!

Whilst on the topic of Cardiff characters – does anyone remember the “Karate man” who used to roam the streets in Roath, Cathays and the City Centre and do karate chops at all the passing traffic? He was legendary in his time!

Faithless are gearing up to release their first album since 2006 this year. That last record, To All New Arrivals, baffled the dance act’s sizeable fanbase, largely because it didn’t ­contain much you could dance to. Clearly they’re not planning to make that ­mistake again: Below is a free download of the mighty Alex M.O.R.P.H. remix of their new single, Sun to Me, a track which firmly re-establishes their cathedral house credentials. Also Sister Bliss has put together a ­rollicking 23-minute mash-up of some of the stand-out tracks from the band’s 15-year career.
