FOOTBALL-The Malkytollah picture at Wembley

Whilst Cardiff City were taking on Liverpool in the Carling Cup final at Wembley it seems Malky Mackay was taking on Rafa Benitez in other ways!

One Cardiff City fan decided to proudly display a framed picture of the Cardiff City Manager and take it around Wembley and surrounding area before the important game kicked off.

A Facebook group called ‘The Passion of The Malky’ was set up where people submitted their photos and stories for everyone to enjoy with some of the best appearing below.

Every now and then a tv programme comes along and really strikes a chord with the viewing public, it could be a person (Joey Deacon), an accident, (Michael Lush), a death (Tommy Cooper) or just a memorable drama (shower scene in Dallas) They really stand out and become such a talking point that they become well-known and sometimes too well-known for the wrong reasons!

In this instance it was a Channel 4 documentary following around a small group of bouncers around the South Wales city of Newport titled as ‘BOUNCERS’. Or as it featured in the tv guides:-

Newport – the gateway to Wales. Celebrated in the cult YouTube hit Newport State of Mind, the birthplace of Goldie Lookin’ Chain and home to LRS Security, who look after many of the city centre’s bars and clubs.

RUGBY-Ireland v Wales

The Six Nations 2012 tournament kicked off on Saturday with a few warm-up games before the main event of the weekend – Ireland v Wales at the new Aviva Stadium in Dublin. All the pundits and experts seemed to have Ireland down as favourites to win but this game was to be anything but predictable!

What an absolute stormer of a game with both sides giving us all an amazing match full of skill and excitement in every twist and turn. In the first half Wales were the stronger side and had the lions share of possession and territory but this wasn’t reflected in the score! Rhys Preistland is a great player but his kicking wasn’t upto standard and dropped us some vital points.

After the interval both teams took the game up a gear with much more pace and tempo but it was marred by two dodgy tackles – one definatly a RED card whereas the other was at most a yellow. Leigh Halfpenny took over kicking duties for Wales and managed to score the vital winner in the dying seconds to get Wales a 23 – 21 victory and possibly setting up Wales to get another Grand Slam?

LEGO-Can you guess what they are?

Lego is an all-time classic toy and was one of my favourites as a child. I thought I was creative and built many things when I was younger but it seems people have been VERY creative and have made some characters and scenes from famous movies and TV programmes – can you guess what they are all from!?
A couple of non-tv-related ones are thrown in for humour – whereas the last one IS tv-related but may take you a while to fathom out but it’s worth a think for the answer!

CANTON-Local ‘Mr Dog’ joins Twitter

Ever walked along the streets of Canton just before the old St David’s Hospital? Well recently you may have noticed a random tennis ball lying all alone in the road or lingering on the pavement!? Well it (lovingly) belongs to a guard dog from M & R Decorating Supplies based on Cowbridge Road West next to Castle Bingo.

When the builders yard is shut up for the night the World’s most nicest guard dog intentionally rolls the ball onto the pavement to tempt passing pedestrians to throw the ball back in for him to catch. The efforts of the public have been captured on video.

HUMOUR-Remakes of the Benton Jesus Christ video

Within a day of the original being online featuring an owner trying to control his dog in Richmond Park with a loads of deers – the internet has taken the original idea and mashed it all up with some classic films and tv programmes! I won’t spoil the fun for you but it’s definately worth watching the original first! Some great spoofs ranging from Disney and American Blockbusters to Trainspotting and Alan Partridge and even a dubstep remix!

MASHUP-Leona Lewis vs Los Del Rio-Bleeding Macarena(DJ Leekee Mix)

OK Sunday mornings, plus hangover normally equals dodgy mashup time! Well I like to try and justify them by saying that are just a bit of fun! (Maybe not as annoying as The Crazy Frog Megamix though!!)

So this time taking the humungous hit from Leona Lewis and totally cheesing it up with some Macarena action from Los Del Rio (or was it Los Del Mar?)

FOOTBALL-Manchester United 1 – Manchester City 6

It happened in mid October when Manchester United were humbled by their rivals, City beating them with a massive 6-1! This was a great opportunity for City fans to revel in this historic result.

Beginning with one Tesco employee whom stole the limelight by changing the price of a confectionery items to mimic the scoreline. (Yes it was a joke to the disappointment of members from money saving websites around the Northwest!)

There have also been loads of other great images appearing aswell!

Not going to introduce this one at all – but just to say stay with it and watch the whole video!
It is so hard not to join in and laugh! Poor ol’ Bradley’s face! (lol) Even The Chaser couldn’t hold it in either!

RUGBY-The Sam Warburton World Cup song

After making such an impression in the 2011 Rugby World Cup so far and leading a team successfully into the semi-finals – the Welsh 23 year old set the internet alight with some amazing ‘Sam Warburton Facts‘ – check out the link to read the best selection.

Whilst a below-par England team came crashing out of the tournament dogged with troubles including drinking, dwarf tossing, bungee jumping before games and ferry ‘hopping’ it seems that Wales captain Sam Warburton has been a leader of a team in total contrast to our English cousins!

To celebrate Sam’s achievements (and the whole teams) Cardiff-born Mark Berridge has created a song titled “Sam Our Captain” Using the music from The Beach Boys’ hit ‘Sloop John B’, it has become the official unofficial Rugby World Cup song with videos appearing online.

After the stunning win by Wales over Ireland by 22 points to 10 in the Rugby World Cup – the online world was set alight with people tweeting amazing Sam Warburton ‘Facts’. Snoop Dogg comes to Cardiff!

in the search of some food and your money….

Local food blogger, Nicola (Nicki) Tudor, to whom the digital world know her as Cardiff Bites became the focus of the online world in Cardiff recently when she was tweeted by international rapper Snoop Dogg.

Nicola runs a food blog ‘Cardiff Bites’ posting about local food and restaurants in South Wales and it seems the rapper wanted to find out more about the food he could expect when his European Tour kicks off in Cardiff on October 2011.

There have been many displays of art under the bridge that carries the Western Avenue (A48) over the River Taff near the UWIC campus in Llandaf.
The first photo I took was back in September 2010 where this great little red character featured predominently under the bridge.

HUMOUR-Sofa King funny!

A local based sofa company managed to get their cheeky advertising slogan on the front page of the Northampton Herald and Post. It seems Sofa King have used this type of play on words during previous advertising campaigns aswell! I hope the people involved are Sofa King pleased with themselves!
