MP3-DJ Leekee Dance Yearmix 2010 – Available now!

Taking a trawl through the year of dance and anything with a beat in 2010 – all mixed together in one chunk more commonly known as a ‘Yearmix’

Encompassing anything remotely related to dance so obviously featuring a load of commercial fodder but also touching on some half decent club classics aswell along with some more of the popular tracks and remixes from a whole range of artists.

There didnt seem much decent hiphop around in 2010 to include this time so ive started off with some 120bpm dance tracks and remixes from some of the larger commercial tracks from 2010 – the likes of BOB, Bruno Mars, Usher, etc.

It’s always quite hard trying to get a decent tracklisting together and deciding what I want the mix to be and how I then reflect this in the mix. Therefore it seems that dance music persay has died on its arse with a total lack of huge club bangers making much of an impression in the charts this year. Usually the spring charts are full of anthems from the Miami Music Conference and then post-summer loads of tracks that were large across clubbing destinations like Ibiza – but this year only a handful have seemed to make it through!

Also one problem I encounted in the mix was that a hell of a lot of tracks were using very similar sounds – you know that sound from Sidney Samson, Pon De Floor and any twisty bending techno sound. Back to back they may sound quite different so I’ve tried not to overuse those and spread them out abit.
One thing I wanted for the mix was for it to be a bit of fun – this isn’t an elistist mix for the house purists – it’s a total commercial mix and does feature some tracks that people may deem cheese! (Even I deem it cheese – but cheese in small portions is fine?!!?) Also I appreciate that strictly some of the tracks were released in 2009 but as I didnt make one last year and that these tracks were still being hammered in 2010 – I felt it fine to include them in the 2010 mix! *phew*

I knew I couldnt just produce a 120bpm to 140bpm dance mix but wanted to explore the huge dubstep and drum and bass scenes that have emerged this year. So I decided to end the mix with some of the larger tracks from these areas – they aint the easiest to mix mind!
