PHOTOS-Graffiti in Newport
A quick trek to Newport to check out the emerging graffiti and stencil scene near the City Centre area.
Firstly some stencils checking out the Ryder Cup which took place at The Celtic Manor site earlier in the year.
Featuring some other random tags and stencils from around the dual carriageways.
But my favourite was a fantastic ‘Legoman’ with the ASBO logo on it – which was plastered on nearly EVERY facility box and rubbish bin throughout Commercial Street and surrounding areas – but the local council mustve removed every single one before I got a chance to snap em – the only one left was a slightly different one down a very dodgy back street!

Renovation of Castle’s Animal Wall is complete…..with an added extra animal!
The multi-million pound makeover of Cardiff Castle and surrounding areas has been taking place over the last few years (does it really take that long?) with the famous Animal Wall now complete.
Part of the wall has been lowered and all the animals given a makeover.
It seems there was a cheeky little addition to a spare part of the wall earlier this week:-

PHOTOS-Cardiff City Centre gets set for Christmas
Last week the Christmas lights were turned on in Cardiff City Centre as we edge ever nearer to Christmas. The whole of the City Centre is hoping for bumper crowds this year to splash the cash and make up for a poor year of sales due to the recession and numerous building projects and construction work that has been carried out in the city over the last few years!

FREE-Download Little White Lies (A local Welsh film that is actually quite good!!)
Get a free MP4 download of BAFTA Cymru winning film ‘Little White Lies’ starring Jonathon Owen off the telly like!
“‘Little White Lies’ is a comedy about racism which tells the story of a working class family in Wales. Their own family is on the verge of being torn apart by racial tensions and the only person in the family trying to hold it all together is the mother, Karen. She has to deal with her layabout armchair politician husband. Her daughter, Serena, who no longer speaks to dad because she’s fallen in love with an Indian from Neath. And her son, Steve, who’s nearly thirty, still living at home and secretly a racist BNP thug. ‘Little White Lies’ deals with the rise of the BNP, the politics of hate, the paranoia of racism and how it effects this Welsh family” Read more…
DJ Leekee Dance Yearmix 2010 – track requests!
The infamous DJ Leekee Dance Yearmix has taken a rest for the last couple of years but due to public demand I think I’ll give one a whirl this year.
Im not sure it’s going to be that Dance orientated but even more commercial than the previous offerings (and some said that they were total cheese!)
So i’m starting out intentionally with a cheese-fest and if some half decent dance tracks make it in will be a bonus! Read more…
PHOTOS-Severe Weather hits South Wales

After such an amazing Wednesday with crisp clear blue skies and not a cloud in sight – it came as a bit of shock to experience the first episode of bad weather this Autumn. All the leaves are now fully off the trees, and with gusts reaching 90 mph in some areas, it’s no surprise that some minor damage occurred throughout the City. Read more…

Latest Favourite Android Apps (November 2010)
A few months have moved on since the last update of my favourite apps for the Android operating system. So here is a run down of my current favs that I use on my HTC Desire mobile phone. (Of course they should work on all Android mobile phones and tablets!)
Twidroyd (FREE) Twitter has grown from just a 140 text string to a media rich way of cummunicating with photos, videos and links. This app used to be called Twitroid (or Twidroid!) but has now been renamed Twidroyd (for some reason) and has recently had a massive makeover. The latest addition to this version is the LIVE PREVIEW which means you can view all links, photos and videos with the built-in viewer IE you dont have to click the links and open up another app to view whatever you are clicking. This new version also allows portait and landscape viewing options aswell. This is the best, most flexible and intuitive Android Twitter client on the market.

Angry Birds (FREE) Our iPhone fanboys have been raving about this game for what seems like ages now but after a short beta-period its now available on Android and best of all its FREE! (Yep we dont have to pay like those Apple bods!) Ok every now and then there is a small advert in the corner but this doesnt detract from the game at all.
So for the unitiated what is Angry Birds? Well its a game of skill trying to unearth the nasty pigs who have stolen all their eggs! Yep it all sounds totally childish and this is reflected in the style of cartoony graphics, music and sound effects.
SO essentially you have to catapult your chickens and chicks into the air to unearth these pigs and hit then and the surrounding environment to unearth them. It all sounds pretty easy but some levels can become quite infuriating.
Its one of those games where you just have to keep having one more go! Well recommended!
Layar (FREE) An interesting little app this! Essentially it is a take on Augemented Reality on the Android operating system. Essentially what this app does is allows you to view your surroundings via the onboard camera and move it around your environment to interact with it and discover/locate things! For instance, I was trying to find a Post Box near me to post a letter in – switch on the ‘Post Box layer’ and spin the camera around to see where the nearest one is. Or if you are feeling a bit peckish and need to know where a local takeaway is – switch on the ‘Takeaway Layer’ Essentially it is a massive database with GPS locations of items which you can view relevant to you. It comes into it’s own when you start using the social media layers consisting of Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. A little bit scary for some people to see other Tweeters located around you but a really invaluable tool!
Meebo (Free) This is an instant messenger app that allows you to chat with MSN, AIM, Yahoo, and even Facebook contacts all within one window. Much more easier than multiple accounts open in loads of different apps! So easy to use. You have the choice whether to individually log onto separate accounts or all together with just one click! No need to reenter usernames or passwords – ever!
Xiia Lite Media Player This application allows you to surf and stream most online radio stations. So forget using separate apps like Winamp, Quicktime, Windows Media etc whereas this will play them all. Xiia Lite supports aac+,aac,m3u,pls,mp3,mp4,mp4a and mpeg audio formats. A lot of websites have small radio feeds or music player links but using the built in browser means the links dont actually open up anywhere! But once you click a streaming link in any web browser Xiia Lite instantly asks you whether you want to save and open in Xiia and when youve done that once you can always instantly open up in Xiia then! Seemples.
Vignette There are many photo manipulation apps about and a lot of them are great for specific effects. Where Vignette comes into its own is that it offers a range of effects which can be applied and give really professional results. Effects range from tilt shift, vignetting, diorama, colour casts, lens effects, blurring, single colour separation to name a few. Well worth trying the free version first which only allows photos of a max res of 0.5MP – paid version allows full res.
Bonzai Blast There are loads of games around like this but none as enjoyable as this version.
Here you have to shoot the coloured balls to match the other colours and then they pop once you get three or more of the same colour together.
Ok it does sound a bit simple but the game is well designed and executed with controls that are very responsive on the HTC Desire.
One to give to the kids to keep them entertained on that car journey or one to sneak into the toilet and play – yes surely we all take our phones to the toilet now?

PHOTOS-Christmas trees being erected in Cardiff City Centre
Well there’s only 53 days to Christmas (at the time of typing) and Cardiff City Centre is gearing up for a very busy and prosperous festive season. Amid all the chaos last year due to St Davids 2 being completed and this year the numerous repaving and landscaping projects around the rest of the city – it’s hoped that this year’s Christmas shoppers will deliver a well-earned Christmas bonus to all the shops that have been struggling for the last couple of years. Will St Mary Street be ready in time? (Not entirely sure what purpose this street has anymore mind – even the bars are starting to close aswell!) Read more…
MASHUP-The Spice Girls vs The Mashup Kids-Take me to the wannabe clouds(DJ leekee Mix)
I just had a spare hour (or two) and felt like doing something (mildly) creative and so churned this one out. I know its all bit cheesey but I like cheese and hope other people do to! All my latest mixes have verged on the wrong side of cheese – maybe ive seen that whole in the market!?
It’s taking the top selling hit from The Mashup Kids(later released as LMC vs U2 with Rachel Mcfarlene on vocals) and mixing it with the Europop version of Wannabe by The Spice Girls. Ive tried my best to hide the synths and other bits of instruments that popped through in the mix and hopefully it will be an enjoyable Spice Girls excursion for you all.
Click play on the Soundcloud arrow to play or hover over it and click DOWNLOAD to download the mix. And there’s even a MediaFire download link below aswell! ENJOY

PHOTOS-Cardiff Castle in Autumn

It was time for a leisurely stroll into town, to begin the Christmas shopping, but I thought it would be worth taking the camera along just incase there were some really autumn scenes around Cardiff Castle and the surrounding areas.
I wasnt disappointed and so ventured up via Blackweir and back down the Taff trail taking in the mild weather and strong sunshine.
