The third in a series of unearthing these great little graffiti characters dotted around Cardiff City Centre.
Im not entirely sure how to describe them but people have previously named them Whales or Blobs!
I spotted the first few in Cardiff Bus Station in the small alleyway that runs alongside the Cardiff Council drop in centre.

Next up were a few I found right in the middle of The Hayes and above the sign for La Fosse restaurant! It was quite ambitious to get up on that small roof and produce this in such a wide open public space! Im sure there must be LOADS of cctv cameras around here aswell!

There is a small back lane that runs from near Queen Street Station to the back of Cardiff Prison (I never ever knew this lane existed – but was intrigued to find 4 or 5 Cardiff traffic enforcement officers lurking down this alley!)
Down here were two more great blobby whale character things! I think i’ve just been able to decypher the tag aswell as “SPADES” – only taken me about 3 months to do that!

Hey man, i’ve noticed loads of Spades’ Heads about too. I love them, whenever I spot one I just take a quick snap on my phone, ’cause they’re removed so fast. The one on La Fosse is now gone I think.
The one’s i’ve noticed so far have been:-
- On the side of the Martin Tinney Gallery on Saint Andrews Lane, this also had a caption “Everything is Composition”. This has been removed but you can still see the outline clearly. (Gold)
- On the Shutters at Cathays Station Ticket Office, the platform nearest Park Place. You can’t see this unless it’s night or a sunday when no-one’s in the office because it’s actually on some shutters. (Pink)
-Just off Woodville Road on the side of Cardiff Uni Student Union, also been partially removed but you can see where it was. (Yellow)
-In the Private Parking section of Hermer and Flacke Solicitors on Saint Andrews Lane. (Blue)
-On the corner of Wyeverne and Woodville Road, this one was altered around Halloween with Devil Horns and a Trident. (Black)
-In a little black doorway, where Park Place meets Queen Street, after Peacocks and sort of opposite the Thistle Hotel. (Pink)
-On Charles Street, opposite the ex Service and Social Club. I think you may have already got this one, it’s sort of two heads rising out of the ground. (Black)
- At the bottom of Fitzroy Street, where it meets Rhymney Street. (Orange)
- On top of some air conditioning vents, on the side of Limerick House, 23 North Edward Street. (Blue)
Hope that helps. I try to keep my eyes peeled for them.
I know who Spades is. Ha!
