Taking the soothing trancey hit from Calvin Harris and mashing it up with the classic vocals from Annie Lennox’s Little Bird.
Cardiff Armed Forces Day 2010

Armed Forces Day was created in 2009 as an event to allow the public to show their support towards the army and to honour and celebrate all the good and hard work that they carry out.
Cardiff was the host city for 2010 and took the honour to build on last years start and make it even bigger and better.
A full programme of events were planned with military precision including a Parade through the City, a Drumhead Service, a fly-past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, military displays, a dynamic air display and an evening concert featuring The Soldiers and Only Men Aloud.
The day began with a celebration Parade starting at Cardiff Castle, leading through the city centre featuring over 800 contingents from the three armed forces, cadets, veterans and standards.

The parade was lead by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall under high security.
I think everyone expected them to be walking down to Cardiff Bay along with everyone else but instead sped past in a posh car!
I just about managed to catch a shot of them – Camilla was waving out of her side of the car but Prince Charles didnt seem that bothered at all!
Taking part in the parade were the following:-
REPRESENTING THE ROYAL NAVY
The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Commando Training Centre Lympstone
A Guard from HMS Kent
A Guard from HMS Monmouth
A Platoon from HMS Cambria
A Platoon from HMS Dragon
A Platoon from University of Wales Royal Naval Unit
A Platoon from Royal Marine Reserve Bristol Cardiff detachment
The Queens Colour of the Fleet Air Arm
REPRESENTING THE ARMY
The Welsh Guards Band
1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards
39th Regiment Royal Artillery
1st Battalion The Welsh Guards
1st Battalion The Royal Welsh (The Royal Welch Fusiliers)
Thousands of people, locally from Cardiff and from across Wales and the UK, lined the streets of Cardiff as the parade passed by. Ticker tape blowers were installed along St Mary Street and were pumping out red, white, blue and green confetti!

Loads more from the parade over at this Cardiff Armed Forces Day Parade set on Flickr.

The parade ended in Roald Dahl Plass with a Drumhead ceremony and the beginning of a day of entertainment and events for everyone to enjoy.
Nearer 5 oclock there was the start of a series of air displays around the bay beginning with a rescue display from a Sea King Helicopter.

I havent never seen so many people in Cardiff Bay for an event and police figures estimate that over 50,000 turned up to be part of the Armed Forces Day 2010.

Next up was the Helicopter Formation Fly past. Five different helicopters including a Chinnock! Damn that RNLI boat coming in blocking my view! lol

Next up was the Harrier Jet formation – we all nearly missed them as they were fairly quiet and zoomed straight past! I only managed one random snap up in the air – directly at the sun so was lucky to catch em!

Next was a fly past by The Red Arrows. What an amazing sight it was to see them flying over Cardiff Bay on such a day.

HTC DESIRE-Tips to improve battery life
We’ve all got our brand new spanking HTC Desire mobiles and are busy playing with them, installing new apps and generally showing them off (even though the Apple fanboys wont even look at them cos they know they are better
)
But all this playing can drain the battery quite a bit and i did struggle to get mine to last more than one day before having to recharge. So I have come up with ten rules to ensure the battery does infact last longer and hopefully to cover you for a full day!
A lot of them might seem pretty obvious but when added together do really make a difference!
1 ) Avoid live wallpapers
2 ) Try and have darker, non-animating wallpapers
3 ) Set the screen timeout to a maximum of 1 minute
4 ) Turn down the screen brightness
5 ) Always switch off Bluetooth
6 ) Don’t use GPS unless necessary
7 ) Disable always-on mobile data
8 ) Limit use of widgets
9 ) Limit use of streaming apps
10) Set a reasonable frequency for background updates
